I am so absolutely addicted and can't get enough of the Desert Grooves CD.
I love the female vocals. I love this cd as much as I love chocolate!

Re: Desert Grooves CD
Mon, July 3, 2006 - 11:24 AMNiyaz is a collaboration of Azam Ali and Two DJ's.
www.sixdegreesrecords.com/artists.php
this should take you right there where you can listen to their songs.
I am a huge fan of Azam Ali, I have three, her albums should be on there too.
She started out with a band named Vas. I love both of those albums
You might also like a band called Raquay and the Cavemen, are you on myspace?
Let me know if you like it! :)
I am always looking for new music, please recommend anything you think I might like!

Re: Desert Grooves CD
Tue, July 4, 2006 - 7:49 PMThe Natacha Atlas remix album is sooooooo awesome! It's my latest favorite.
Also, my friend gave me a cd called "Bollywood Lounge" which is Indian electronica, some including the female vocals I'm so found of...and it is very bellydance-able!
I do like Raquy and the Cavemen! About a year ago, they were playing in NYC and I got a flyer for it...I tried to make it to their show but had to run for my bus back to Pgh. and missed the show! So, I bought the album "Dust" as soon as I got home. But, luckily for me they booked themselves to do a show in Pittsburgh and I got to hear them live after all! It was SO awesome! Nobody in Pittsburgh had heard of them until they contacted people about playing here, but I think all of the other bellydancers instantly became fans when they heard them live, the same way I did when I first played their cd! So, now they have a lot more fans in Pittsburgh instead of just lil' ol' me! :)
I'm not on myspace anymore.
I can't wait to check out the stuff you recommended!

Thu, July 6, 2006 - 9:38 AMNyaz is listed on emusic.com. That's a pretty affordable download site. If your tastes run outside the mainstream, it's a pretty good deal.

Fri, November 3, 2006 - 7:49 AMIf you like Desert Grooves, then you'll Love Orange Blossom.. The very best in Electro-Arabic mix and they even have a more traditional piece at the very end as a bonus....
I play this cd in the car......

Re: Desert Grooves CD
Fri, November 3, 2006 - 9:27 AMWhere do you suggest I buy the Orange Blossom cds?
I tried buying one from importcds.com...
I gave them my info., and then an error page came up...gives me the creeps, seems shady when i give my info. and then I don't know if they are charging my card, if the order went through, etc.!
