Need music suggestions

Hi all!

So, my car got broken into and 7 years of dance music was stolen. Most of it was not backed up (I know, no excuse). Anyway, a lot of it was music that I had just acquired over the years and I'm unsure of the names of the artists and titles of songs.

I'm slowly but surely starting to rebuild my collection (heavy sigh), but I sure could use some ideas on new music! I'm a tribal dancer who regularly performs to Cheb i Sabbah, DJ Lorin Bassnectar, Karsh Kale, Amon Tobin,Ekova, dub step DJ's, etc... but I really love heavily percussive, industrial sounding world fusion music.

Can anyone suggest some artists or DJ's that I should look into? Oh, and if you could also suggest where I can find the music, I would appreciate it so much! Good dance karma!
Thank you!

I am so sorry for your loss. I know how I would feel if I lost my belly dance music collection. My heart goes out to you. If you are looking for a delicate piece of music I know a beautiful electronic version of the Cherry Blossom Dance on the Hearts Of Space Sampler 1990. I think that it is track 13. I think that the album that it is pulled from is called Purple Sails. The music is enchanting. You might be able to find the H of S sampler 1990 at the library. That is how I discovered it. Good luck in your quest.

Oh geeze... I'm so sorry to hear about your music! I think I would freak out if that happened to me.

I do have a suggestion, though... check out Maduro's album "Shimmer Sustain" - it's definitely heavily percussive, industrial-sounding world fusion electronica. :)

Thank you so much, and yes, I have actually been deeply depressed about this for several weeks now. So much that can't be replaced.

      Thank you again!

my wife and I just had our car broken into as well, so I can truly feel your pain.
they got our stereo, a ton of CDs, broke the window and, add insult to injury, they
turned the lights on in the car so the battery was dead when we returned........such
        a feeling of abuse.........arggggghhhhh.

I wish you weren't so far away (it says you are in L.A.)

My industrial middleeastern project nO thiN-g is playing live with Japan's the Royal Dead on Monday night
at the BOX in downtown Santa Cruz. It is still premature for recordings but we will be definitely be putting
out a CD sometime later this year. We're using a ot of traditional instruments, rhythms and maqamat (scales)
but we're also mixing in some indian, indonesian and even balkan influences..............lot's of distortion
and 'stompy boot' sounds for this project............lol.

We'll do a song to honor your loss. I hope you recover quickly.

        all the best,

        Rick Walker

I dj this music and *never* leave my cd's in the car... in fact a co-dj's car was broken into and several boxes of cd's gone... fortunately he knew which section of his collection it was and was able to replace quite a few...

If you send me you address I'll send you some music.

I feel for your loss, believe me... it would be unbearable for me to lose my collection.
